Proverbs 17:24

A discerning man keeps wisdom in view,

but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.

—Proverbs 17:24

Life App

TODAY and what is right in front of you is what is important. Do what you can do today to bring heaven to earth and let tomorrow take care of itself.

Food for Thought

Don’t let the trust you have in God today outweigh the faith you have in him tomorrow. Live with God today and tomorrow will have a way of working itself out.

Consider these words of wisdom from Jesus:

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

Next Steps

Jesus teaches us how to pray beginning this way: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Heaven can be right here on earth if we choose to dwell with God, let him dwell within us, and if we will choose to do the things of God rather than the selfish things. What will you choose today?
