Proverbs 17:21

June 12, 2012

To have a fool for a son brings grief;

there is no joy for the father of a fool.

—Proverbs 17:21

Life App

So, are you playing the fool?

Food for Thought

My earthly father is gone. There is no more joy I can bring him. But a fatherly relationship remains with my God. I’ve brought him a lot of grief over the years. I don’t want to cause him grief anymore. I want to bring him joy. Would you join me please in bringing joy—in bringing heaven to earth—with God?

Next Steps

Father, forgive me. I’ve been a foolish son. I return like the prodigal son Jesus talks about and I beg you that I can remain in your presence forever. May I bring you joy. Reveal your heart to me so that I can do my best to do what pleases you all my days and throughout eternity. Thank you, Father, for second chances. Amen.
